Laser radiation properties, laser cavities, coherence, atomic spectra, pumping rate, power gain, threshold conditions, beam shape, mode structure; ion, molecular, solid-state, dye, semiconductor, and fiber lasers.

Prerequisite: EE 450 or PHY 450
