Program Description
The on-campus Respiratory Care program prepares students for entry-level professional practice as respiratory therapists through a comprehensive curriculum that integrates classroom instruction, laboratory experiences, simulation, and supervised clinical education. Students develop a strong foundation in cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology, patient assessment, diagnostic testing, pharmacology, and therapeutic interventions across the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice, professional communication, and ethical decision-making. Graduates are prepared to deliver safe, effective respiratory care in a variety of healthcare settings and to meet eligibility requirements for national credentialing examinations and state licensure.
