Electrical Engineering, BS

The Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering follows a rigorous curriculum, requiring a minimum of 180 credit hours, which takes approximately four years to complete. To be eligible for graduation, students must maintain a 2.0 GPA. In addition, a final grade of “C” or better must be earned in all courses with CST, EE, ENGR, MATH, PHY prefixes, as well as in all technical elective courses.

Notes/Options

• CHE 201/205 can be substituted with CHE 221Z/227Z 

• Math/Science Elective - choose a course in BIO, CHE, ENV, GEOL, MATH, or PHY class (or advisor approved Math/Science)

• EE 225 can be replaced with EE 320

• Technical electives include upper division EE and REE courses (except EE 311, EE320, EE 347, and EE 431), and courses listed for a specific BSEE technical emphasis. Other courses may be used with advisor approval . See Electrical Engineering webpage for more information.

Technical Emphases

Students in the BSEE program may choose to specialize in a particular area by selecting at least three of their engineering technical elective courses from the appropriate lists. These lists of courses are provided only for guidance. Students are not required to select a technical emphasis, and technical emphases will not appear on the students’ transcripts. Some technical elective courses in the emphases may not be available at both campuses. Check course offerings with your advisor.
